Chapter One :Chapter 1

"Sienna, as long as you donate your kidney to Harper, the Holt family will consider you our daughter!"

"You've gone back on your word!"

"Our family doesn't need a daughter as cruel as you! From today, don't even think about finding a job in Jiangshi!"

**

Sienna opened her eyes, her vision flickering dark. Blood was still dripping from her wrist.

"What a bunch of lunatics. Unbelievable."

Thinking about the original owner’s tragic end, Sienna frowned deeply.

She pushed her exhausted body out of the bathroom and calmly started tending to her wound.

Out of nowhere, a black cat appeared, gracefully landing on the sofa before lazily rolling over.

"How does it feel to be human?" the black cat asked, its tone casual but curious.

"Not like it’s my first time being one," Sienna replied, her face emotionless. She opened the fridge, took out yesterday’s leftovers, and warmed them up before eating.

The sudden departure of the previous King of Hell had caused chaos, leaving the human world in disorder and riddled with strange phenomena.

As the newly appointed intern King of Hell, Sienna had been sent here to restore balance.

But seriously, the original owner of this body’s luck was just too tragic!

Born into a wealthy family, swapped at birth, tossed into the streets like garbage.

Raised by her grandmother who scraped by collecting trash, she’d finally finished college, only for her grandmother to fall ill.

And that’s when her "real" family showed up. They said the original host could return to the family, and they’d even cover Grandma’s medical bills—but only if she donated one of her kidneys to the fake daughter!

Thinking about Grandma’s condition, the original host clenched her teeth and agreed.

When Grandma found out, though, she yanked out her oxygen tube, threatening to end her own life.

“Sienna, I didn’t raise you this far just to see you hurt yourself. If you lose a kidney just for me, I won’t die in peace!”

The original host had no choice but to refuse, tears streaming down her face.

But instead of care, what came next was relentless suppression and scorn from her so-called biological parents.

“You’re losing just a kidney, but Harper could lose her life!”

“This is on us for being too lenient with you, or you wouldn’t be this heartless!”

“From now on, don’t even think about finding a job. You’ll stay home and reflect until you understand what kindness and sacrifice truly mean. Only then are you worthy of being a daughter of the Holt family!”

Left penniless and unable to find work, crushed under the weight of Grandma’s medical bills and the Holts’ oppression, the original host ultimately took her own life by slitting her wrists.

“What about her soul?” Sienna asked.

“It’s already been reincarnated. The only wish she left behind was for her grandmother to be cared for,” the black cat replied.

It leapt off the couch, shifting into the form of a young boy with emerald green eyes and an all-black outfit. He poked at the leftover food in the bowl on the table.

“Hey, aren’t humans supposed to have amazing food? And you, as the junior King of Hell, are eating... this?” His face twisted in a look of utter distaste."No other way, the original owner's bank account has only a few cents left. Can't even afford instant noodles," Sienna Williams muttered as she mechanically shoveled rice into her mouth.

Not only did she have to chase ghosts and fix strange anomalies, but she also needed to make money just to eat and not starve. Who could possibly get how miserable this was?

"You better hurry up and make cash! It's been ages since I had dried fish." The black cat licked its lips, urging her impatiently.

Sienna rolled her eyes. Seriously? She was already on the brink of starvation, and this ghostly sidekick still had the nerve to crave snacks. Dream on!

But yeah, making money wasn’t optional.

After finishing her meal and washing the dishes, Sienna picked up her phone and studied it for a bit.

"Alright, decision made—live-stream fortune-telling. It’ll not only help me deal with ghost-related chaos but also fill my stomach. Perfect!"

Once she decided, Sienna immediately used the original owner’s ID to register an account on Douyin and started her first live stream.

But a minute passed. Then ten minutes. Except for Sienna herself, not even a ghost showed up in her live stream room!

The black cat cast her a skeptical glance. "Are you sure this is gonna work?"

"If I wasn’t capable, how do you think I ended up as the King of Hell?" Sienna sneered, casually waving her right hand to activate her power.

In the next instant, hundreds of viewers flooded into the live stream.

"Live-streaming fortune-telling? Intrigued. [Curious emoji]"

"Hah, scammers dare to live-stream these days? Mods, where are you? Do your job!"

"Pretty girl, huh? How about a dance for us?" "Can you really tell fortunes? Then tell me, when can I strike it rich overnight?"

Sienna Williams glanced at the scrolling comments on the screen and calmly explained, "One Fortune God summon per reading. It covers things like fortune-telling, finding missing people, solving supernatural problems, you name it. Fees depend on the situation."

Her words immediately set the comments section on fire.

"One Fortune God for $1,000? Are you kidding? Robbery, much?"

"Only fools would fall for this! Reported!"

"I kinda want to see someone try this. Any brave souls out there?"

"Why don’t YOU try it, then?"

Suddenly, a flashy Fortune God appeared on screen, paired with some over-the-top special effects, holding a banner that read “Wishing You Prosperity.”

The chat exploded—someone actually tried it!

An account named "Down-to-Earth Warrior" requested to connect, and Sienna accepted. A middle-aged man with a construction helmet popped up on the live feed, the noisy backdrop of a construction site behind him.

"So, what do you want to know?" Sienna asked.

Maxwell Ray shot her a disdainful look, then spat out, "What do I want? Well, I just can't stand girls like you, perfectly capable of working, but instead, you’re out here scamming people online. Didn’t your parents teach you better? Guess I’ll be the one to knock some sense into you!"

The chat blew up in agreement.

"Finally, someone said it! Respect, bro!"【I have to admit, gotta respect the guy—spending a grand just to teach someone a lesson. If that’s the case, come to me, I can do it too!】

【But... what if it’s not a scam?】

Sienna Williams’ gaze grew colder by the second.

“Maxwell Ray. Age thirty-five. Owner of a construction company. Married twice. You’ve got a son, a daughter, and your current wife is pregnant again. Sound about right?”

Maxwell’s expression shifted instantly. “How do you know all that?”

Sienna replied with a casual shrug, “Would I even dare to livestream psychic readings if I wasn’t the real deal? Think about it.”

Maxwell hesitated for a moment. Could this young woman actually be the real thing?

“If you’re not planning to get on with it, I’m ending the call now.” Sienna crossed her arms, her tone laced with impatience.

“Wait!” Maxwell gritted his teeth. “Alright, I’ll admit—I’ve been experiencing something really freaky lately. If you can help me sort it out, I’ll send over ten more god statues, no problem. But if you can’t, I’ll make sure you’re finished on the internet!”

Sienna didn’t even blink at his threat. “Go ahead, spill the details.”

As the conversation carried on, the viewers in the livestream chat started speculating wildly.

【Could he be a plant? This feels staged.】

【Checked with Google already—Maxwell Ray’s legit, head of Lonxing Construction.】

【Still seems fake—probably just hype for clout!】

Maxwell paused for two seconds, then began to speak. "About a week ago, I had this dream. My mom, who passed away years ago, was just standing there in the dark. She didn't say a word, just staring at me with this intense gaze. Then, out of nowhere, two streams of blood tears roll down her face. It freaked me out, and I woke up immediately."

"At first, I thought it was just some weird coincidence. But then the next night, I had the same dream. Same scene, same feeling, and I woke up again, scared out of my mind."

"I started feeling like something was off. So, I went back to my hometown. I did the whole deal—sacrifices, kowtowing at her grave, the works. For a couple of days, things settled down. But last night, the dream came back!"

As he finished, Maxwell Ray glanced at Sienna Williams.

"Young lady, can you fix this?"

Sienna’s gaze was cold and steady. "You’re not telling the whole story."

Maxwell’s face turned red with anger.

"What do you mean I’m not telling the truth? If you can’t handle it, just admit you’re a fraud!"

Such nerve! Knocking on hell’s door all on your own, huh?

Sienna smirked faintly.

"Do you know why you keep seeing your mom crying blood in your dreams?"

Maxwell froze for a moment. "Why?"

"Because of your sins. What you’ve done doesn’t let her rest in peace, not even underground."
